Autism Speaks Walk June 5

Great to meet all of you who visited our booth at the walk on Sunday, June 5th! Please share your experiences or send us your requests regarding travel.

Priority Boarding

Just heard a priority boarding call for individuals with "special needs" at an airport. This is a first--if you have heard this, please share the news with others.

Airline Seating

Remember to tell the airline at booking that you are traveling with an autistic child. Most will put you in touch with their priority seating department for individuals with a disability. Just booked a trip for April and had this experience! Any comments please share with us.

Tired of Snow?

Liquids At Security Checkpoints

Noticed on recent Jet Blue trip that there are new/updated liquid requirements. Go to www.jetblue.com

But also be sure to check your partiular airline website for these regs.

Holiday Travel Tips

Thanksgiving is behind us and the holiday season has officially started! Please post your travel tips to this blog or email them to info@autistictraveler.com or sign our guest book and we will post them for our readers to see!

Grand Canyon & National Parks

See details of recent trip under Trip Planning--Top Picks Adventure--Grand Canyon. Good tip from a reader--free access to national parks available to those with permanent disabilities--the America the Beautiful pass--replaced Golden Access pass. Proof of disability is required.

Thank you!

Many thanks to all of you posting on the "guest book" your ideas and questions....wonderful to have the input and support!

Adventure Vacation

Just back from an Adventure Vacation--Grand Canyon,

Monument Valley, Painted Desert/Petrified Forest and

Sedona, Arizona. tips and highlights posted on site soon.

Priority Boarding Tip

Flew American Airlines on recent trip. They will give you priority boarding if requested for your autistic child. Good to get on early and get settled in.

Caribbean Travel Tip

Going to a warm place? Wear layers--not coats--reduces risk of leaving something behind at security.

Packing for Anguilla

Carry on tip --Robitussin DM just came out in single dose packets--meets airline carry on liquid rules. Remember keep those carry on bags at 20" length or less!

Welcome!

Today our site has added this blog section. We are excited about hearing from you, your thoughts, ideas and travel tips.

The site will continue to be developed over the next few weeks----even though the AutisticTraveler will be traveling to Anguilla (Yes one of the many places you will be reading about in the Trip Planning Section).
